David Allen is instructor of clarinet and saxophone at Radford University in Virginia and an active freelance musician. He has performed with orchestras throughout the region, including the North Carolina Symphony and Greensboro Symphony, and has performed in chamber music concerts throughout the world. He started saxophone at the insistence of his clarinet teacher, Tommy Thompson, while completing his Master’s degree. He fell in love with instrument and has since studied with Susan Fancher and Steve Stusek. He has degrees in music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon University, and UNCG.
